George Washington – Currently a Major in the Virginia Militia, George is a young, ambitious officer. At only 21 years old, this is his first mission for the Governor of Virginia. The Major hopes a successful mission will help him accomplish his goal of obtaining a commission in the British military.
Christopher Gist – Chris is a seasoned trapper who has experience surveying the Forks of Ohio in the past. He was hired by the Major to help navigate through the wilderness and negotiate with the natives. Chris has explored as far west as Tennessee Territory with his friend and neighbor Daniel Boone.
Tanacharison – Called the Half-king by Washington, Tanacharison is the leader of several tribes that have relocated to the Forks of Ohio. His people were pushed east by colonial expansion in east and central Pennsylvania. The Half-king is motivated by his desperation to help his kin.
Jacob Van Braam – Jacob is the Major’s French interpreter and companion. His job is to receive the French response to the edict from the Governor of Virginia. Intelligent and meticulous Van Braam was one of the Major’s first choices for this mission.
Legardeur de St. Piere – Brought in to expand the French presence in America, the Legardeur is a military and logistical expert. By the time he was visited by the Major, St. Piere was well on his way to achieving his goal of building a force capable of taking and holding the Forks of Ohio.
